Essentially, during your sump installation, your plumber will dig a sump basin in which rainwater will collect. During your installation, after we dig the pit, we’ll lower the pump down so that it nestles securely inside. Once the water in the pit reaches a certain level, it will trigger the switch within the pump to turn on and suction water out of the pit and away from your home.
