Plumbing Inspection
A video inspection will always be the first step we take in sewer line replacement. Locals can rest easy knowing their pipes are properly looked after. In this part of the process, we’ll use video camera inspection to take a look at your drain pipes. From there, we’ll be able to see exactly what’s going on. We may find that your pipes have corroded, but we may also see an invasive tree root or a clog. Depending on what we find, we’ll either thoroughly clean your sewer line or recommend one of two options for your sewer line replacement. The pipes will either be in decent enough condition for pipe relining or will be irreparable and must be burst and fully replaced.
Hydro Scrub Jetting
If your pipes are in decent condition, as in they do not have numerous cracks, holes, or pipe corrosion, we will need to get them clean before we can reline them. The cleaning method we use is called HydroScrub® Jetting, which uses high-pressure water to blast away debris and buildup from your drains. We use this method in our regular drain cleaning process as well, helping to rid them of clogs and dangerous sewer backups.
Pipe Relining
If there is only one small crack in your drain line or a bit of corrosion damage inside your pipes, we’ll recommend that your sewer line receives trenchless sewer pipe lining. This smart service is non-invasive and won’t displace you from your home; however, it does take a few hours to complete. If pipe relining is the route we take, we’ll dig a small hole to access your main sewer pipe. When we get to it, we’ll open the pipe and slide in a flexible tube that’s coated in epoxy. Inside the tube will be an inflatable device that helps push the edges of the tube against the inside of your pipe. When the solution has cured, and a tight bond is formed, we’ll remove the inflatable device. As soon as the tube has set for good, you can turn your water back on.
Pipe Bursting
Pipe relining is for existing pipes in good condition. Pipe bursting is for irreparably damaged pipes or those with numerous sewer line issues. Repairing them wouldn’t be feasible, or if it was, it would likely be more labor intensive than simply bursting your old pipes and sliding in a replacement. If the whole “bursting” thing makes you think this process is destructive, it’s not. It involves the same non-invasive process pipe relining does. All we need to do is dig two access holes to access your main sewer line. Using state-of-the-art hydraulic equipment, we’ll burst your old pipe into pieces before installing a new one in its place. After that, we’ll use a rod to pull out the broken pieces through the second hole.
Sewer line replacements are similar to water line replacements, which we offer Memphis, TN residents as well. In addition, we offer sewer line installation and water line installation for your new property but keep in mind that this service will require excavation.
