How to Get Tree Roots Out Of Drain Pipes In Michigan

The plumbing specialists at Mr. Rooter of Detroit have practical and affordable methods for safely removing tree roots out from drains and pipes.

Detroit Michigan area homes have older sewer systems installed and with the lengths tree roots can grow while seeking out water, pipes in this region can suffer from tree root problems on a regular basis.

Need Help Removing Roots from Drain Pipes? Here's How We Do It!

In order to safely remove tree roots out of drain pipes, we have two different methods:
  • Hydro Jetting
  • Robotic Cutting

Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting allows us to blast the roots out of the pipes with powerful streams of water ejected from a hose with a multi-directional nozzle attached to the spout.

The water pressure can be increased up to 3,500 PSI (pounds per square inch), guaranteeing that tree roots are forced out of the pipes.

We make sure that the water used in the hydro jetting process is chemical-free in order to avoid the risk of chemicals leaching into the pipelines and expediting corrosion.

Robotic Cutting

Robotic cutting involves our technicians utilizing specialized cutting tools to remove tree roots.

As a more direct approach, the cutting blades are incredibly sharp and powerful, giving us the ability to not only cut through tree roots, but concrete as well.

How We'll Help Avoid Tree Roots in Your Sewer Line

Once the tree roots have been removed from the pipes, either by washing them away with our hydro jetting equipment or cutting them out with our robotic cutters, we will line the inside of the pipe with epoxy resin and allow it to cure and harden to the inside.

This is known as pipe relining, and it's an effective way we repair sewer lines without digging up your yard.

This also guarantees that in the future, tree roots will be less likely to infest the system since the epoxy resin hardens to become smooth and extremely durable.
