While most homeowners are familiar with the need to occasionally clear a clogged drain, many are unsure of how often they should have their drains professionally cleaned. The answer depends on a number of factors, including the type and age of your plumbing system, the amount of use it gets, and the presence of any tree roots or other debris in the sewer line.
A plumber will be able to assess your individual needs and recommend a schedule for drain cleaning services. In general, however, it is advisable to have your drains professionally cleaned at least once every two years in order to prevent serious clogs and other plumbing issues.
