What is HydroScrub® Jetting and is it Really Worth it?
A clogged drain can lead to a lot more than just bad water pressure in the shower (though admittedly, that is still pretty bad!). In more extreme cases, a blockage can lead to leaks behind walls and even contaminated water. That’s why it’s so important to not only react to clogs quickly but effectively, too — that’s where HydroScrub® comes in handy.
What is HydroScrub® Jetting?
HydroScrub® is the process of using a high-pressure stream of water to push a clog free and clean off debris from the inside of pipes. The main difference between HydroScrub® and rodding is that with rodding, a plumber would use a long tool to literally push the clog out.
The Benefits of HydroScrub®
When compared to other clog removal methods, HydroScrub® is:
- More Effective: Snakes and rods can leave residue along the sides of pipes, as well as scratch them.
- Eco-friendly: Chemical drain cleaners can have a terrible impact on the environment. When it comes to drain cleaning, HydroScrub® jetting is the most environmentally friendly method.
- Cost-effective (in the long run): Though it is more expensive than other means, like snaking and chemical cleaners, HydroScrub® is more cost-effective in the long run because, in addition to removing clogs, it also clears debris that’s just starting to form.
It’s Not Just for Emergency Clogs
We’ve talked a lot about how HydroScrub® is great for attacking stubborn clogs. But the real beauty of HydroScrub® jetting is that it can be used to prevent clogs and other future problems before they even happen.
Even if it seems like water is flowing freely through your pipes, there could still be a clog just days away from taking over the entire pipe. That’s why preventative maintenance is so important. HydroScrub® will clear off small bits of food, soap, and grease before they can become a bigger problem.
