What is a Water Softener?
In a nutshell - a water softener treats hard water and enhances your water quality.
A water softener removes the minerals that cause hard water. Hard water contains high levels of calcium, magnesium, and other ions. These minerals can leave behind deposits on surfaces and inhibit the effectiveness of your soap and detergent. These mineral deposits can also cause damage to your pipes, plumbing fixtures, and appliances.
A water softener uses an ion exchange process to remove these minerals and replace them with sodium ions. This process involves passing the hard water through a resin bed that contains sodium ions, which attract and trap the mineral ions. A regeneration process is then used to flush the mineral-laden resin and replace it with fresh sodium ions.
Water Softener Installation
When it comes to installing or replacing your water softener, there isn’t a “one size fits all” approach. If you’re interested in a water softener system, we’ll test your water, so we know what needs to be treated. We’ll recommend the ideal unit for your home based on our findings and how much water you use. We’ll review all pricing with you ahead of time so you know how much the softener and labor will cost.
If you approve our estimate, we’ll schedule the installation service when it’s most convenient for you. We’ll supply the water softener and all of the materials needed for the job. When all is said and done, installing your water softener system should only take 2-3 hours.
